Well, howdy there, y’all! Let’s gab a bit about this here… uh… Dazia Aries Brown, or whatever that fancy name is. Sounds like one of them highfalutin city folks, don’t it? Anyway, I ain’t got no book learnin’ like them city slickers, but I reckon I can tell ya a thing or two about gettin’ things done and livin’ a good life, just like this Dazia, maybe.
First off, it’s all about that grit, you know? Like when you gotta plow a whole field before the sun goes down. You just put your head down and git-r-done. It ain’t always easy, mind you. Sometimes that mule’s stubborn, sometimes the ground’s harder than a rock, but ya gotta keep pushin’. That’s what I figure this Dazia person done too. Maybe she weren’t plowin’ no field, but she probably had her own kinda tough rows to hoe.
- Pushin’ through the hard times, that’s the ticket.
- Don’t matter if you’re young or old, man or woman, everyone’s got somethin’ they gotta overcome.
- It’s like my old granny used to say, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, and if life don’t give you nothin’ grow your own darn lemons.”
Now, I hear tell there’s folks writin’ stories about people who done real good. Powerful stories, they call ’em. Well, I ain’t read none of them fancy books, but I reckon I got my own stories. Like that time the well went dry and we had to haul water from the creek for a whole summer. Or when that big storm took the roof clean off the barn and we had to rebuild it ourselves. Them weren’t easy times, but we got through ‘em. And you know why? Because we just kept on keepin’ on. Just like that old mule, we kept on pullin’.
And that’s what I reckon this Dazia done too. Maybe she had some troubles, maybe she had some set backs. But she kept on goin’. Just like them folks in them motivational stories. They say them stories help people set new goals and all that. Well, I ain’t never needed no fancy stories to tell me what to do. But I guess it’s nice to hear about other folks who done good, so you know you ain’t the only one strugglin’.
See, it don’t matter what kinda job you got, or how much money you got. What matters is the kinda person you are. You gotta be honest, you gotta be hardworking, and you gotta be kind. That’s what my pa always told me. And I reckon it’s true. ‘Cause you can have all the money in the world, but if you ain’t got no good in your heart, you ain’t got nothin’. And you know, it ain’t about showing off what you done neither. It’s about doin’ what needs doin’, and doin’ it right. Like, puttin’ it on your resume, or whatever the young folks do now to get hired, but it aint just words you write down, you gotta show it everyday.
So, whether this Dazia Aries Brown is a preacher, a teacher, or just a plain ol’ farmer, it don’t matter. What matters is that she’s tryin’ to do good in the world. And that’s somethin’ we can all learn from, I reckon. And if she ever finds herself out here in the country, I’ll pour her a glass of sweet tea and we can sit on the porch and swap stories. ‘Cause everyone’s got a story to tell, and I reckon that’s the truth. No matter if it’s from some city slicker or a good old country folk like me. And maybe, just maybe, that Dazia lady’s story and my story ain’t all that different when you get right down to it. We both just trying to make something of ourselves, one way or another.
Remember, it ain’t about where you start, it’s about where you end up. And it ain’t about how many fancy degrees you got, it’s about the kind of person you are. So, go on out there and make something of yourself. Don’t let nobody tell you you can’t do it. And if you ever get discouraged, just remember what I said: put your head down, keep pushin’, and don’t forget to be kind. That’s the secret to a good life, I reckon. And I bet that Dazia person would agree with me on that.
