Well, let me tell ya about this Chris Craft Constellation thing, whatever it is. Sounds fancy, like somethin’ them rich folks in the city would have. I ain’t never seen one myself, but from what I hear, it’s a boat. A big ol’ boat, mind you.
Now, I heard tell some fella bought a 1963 Constellation. 1963, that’s a long time ago! He’s puttin’ it in a big pond on his farm, can ya believe it? Says he’s gonna make it into some kinda art studio, a place to get away. Guess he don’t wanna drive it nowhere, just wants it to sit there pretty. He’s gonna tie it up good, so it don’t float away, I reckon.
They say this here Constellation has got a fancy bedroom, or whatever they call it, a “Master Stateroom.” Sounds mighty important! It’s got a big ol’ bed in the middle, and new stuff on the walls, and little lights all around. And get this, it’s got two closets, one on each side, for all your fancy clothes. I bet ya could fit all my dresses in just one of them!
- Big bed in the middle
- New stuff on the walls
- Little lights all around
- Two big closets
This other fella, he had a 1966 Constellation, a “Luxury Yacht,” they called it. Luxury, huh? Must be nice. This one had beds up front, and a place to, well, you know, go to the bathroom. I ain’t gonna say no more about that, it ain’t polite.
If you wanna buy one of these Constellation boats, you gotta go lookin’ around. They sell ’em all over the world, I hear. You can find ’em on somethin’ called the “YachtWorld,” whatever that is. Prices all over the place too, from a little bit of money to a whole lot. Some cost as much as a whole farm, maybe more!
And then there’s the 1967 Constellation. Folks say it’s a real looker. I wouldn’t know, like I said, I ain’t never seen one up close. But people seem to like ’em.

There’s this place called “Edwards Yacht Sales,” they got a bunch of these Chris Craft boats. Big ones, small ones, all kinds. You could spend all day just lookin’ at ’em.
And they got these “Power High Performance” Constellations too. Sounds fast, huh? Probably go zoomin’ across the water like a scared rabbit. You can find them on that YachtWorld thing too.
I heard about this boat called “MV Ataraxia.” Maybe it’s one of them Constellations, maybe not. But it sounds peaceful, like sittin’ on the porch swing on a summer afternoon, sippin’ sweet tea.
There’s this one Constellation been sittin’ in a boathouse at the Tacoma Yacht Club since 1996. That’s a long time! The folks who own it, they took real good care of it. But now they’re sellin’ it, so somebody else can enjoy it.
Now, they say Chris Craft, they make these boats real special. They take their time, don’t rush things. Each boat is made just for the person who ordered it. They still do things the old-fashioned way, with their hands, but they use newfangled tools too. Been makin’ boats since the 1920s, those Chris Craft folks. Started out with little wooden boats, fast as lightning, with them newfangled motors on the back.
So, that’s what I know about these Chris Craft Constellation boats. Fancy, expensive, and sound like a whole lot of trouble if you ask me. I’ll stick to my porch swing, thank you very much. But hey, if you got the money and the time, I guess it’d be kinda fun to have a big ol’ boat to play around with.
