Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Aries Merritt fella and them Reebok spikes, ya know? I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, just gonna tell it like it is, the way I see it.
Aries Merritt, that fast runnin’ boy, he’s somethin’ else, ain’t he? Folks say he’s a real champion, winnin’ all sorts of races and breakin’ records. Heard tell he even got himself a gold medal at them Olympics, the big race with all the hurdles. That’s a lot of jumpin’ and runnin’, gotta be hard on the knees, I tell ya.
Now, these Reebok spikes, they must be somethin’ special if a fella like Aries wears ’em. Spikes, they’re them shoes with the pokey things on the bottom, right? Help ya grip the ground, so ya don’t go slippin’ and slidin’ all over the place. I reckon Aries needs all the grip he can get, runnin’ that fast and jumpin’ over them hurdles. He probably goes through a fair few pairs, too, all that runnin’ and jumpin’.

I heard tell this boy had some tough times, injuries and such. It’s a hard life, bein’ an athlete. All that trainin’ and pushin’ yourself. But he came back, they say. Stronger than ever. That’s the spirit, ain’t it? Don’t let nothin’ keep ya down. Just like my old mule, Bess. She stumbled a few times, but she always got back up and kept on pullin’.
This coach fella, Andreas Behm, he helped Aries get back on his feet, so to speak. A good coach is important, ya know? Like a good teacher, or a good neighbor. Someone to guide ya and push ya to be your best. And Vince, whoever he is, seems like he was important too, helpin’ both Aries and the coach. It takes a village, they say, even for runnin’ fast.
Aries Merritt’s world record, that’s somethin’ to be proud of, ain’t it? 12.80 seconds, they say. That’s faster than a greased piglet on a hot summer day! I can barely count to 12 in that time, let alone run and jump over a bunch of sticks. It just goes to show ya, hard work and the right shoes can take ya far. And them Reebok spikes must be pretty good shoes, if they helped him run that fast.

They say he was runnin’ at some indoor meet, the UW Indoor Open. Indoor runnin’, that’s a new one on me. I always thought runnin’ was an outside thing, like plantin’ corn or milkin’ cows. But I guess them city folk do things different. Maybe it’s too cold or somethin’ to run outside, or maybe they just like runnin’ in circles.
And this Diamond League thing, sounds fancy. Guess it’s like a big competition with all the best runners. Aries won that too, they say. He’s a winner, that boy. A real champion. And I bet he had his Reebok spikes on when he won it. You don’t win somethin’ like that wearin’ old boots, do ya?
It ain’t easy comin’ back from an injury, especially when you’re gettin’ on in years, not that Aries is old, mind you. But the body don’t work the same as it used to. Takes a lot of grit and determination. And good shoes, I reckon. Them Reebok spikes must be comfortable, too, not just fast. Can’t be runnin’ with your feet hurtin’.
So, there ya have it. My take on Aries Merritt and his Reebok spikes. He’s a fast runner, a champion, and them shoes must be somethin’ special. Maybe I should get me a pair, see if I can outrun that pesky rooster that keeps chasin’ me around the yard! Just kiddin’, of course. My runnin’ days are long gone. But it’s good to see young folks like Aries doin’ well, makin’ somethin’ of themselves. And wearin’ good shoes while they do it.
Aries Merritt and reebok spikes a good match, I say. Like peas and carrots, or biscuits and gravy. One just goes with the other. And that’s all there is to it, plain and simple.
