I wanted to figure out how much those cardboard boxes I had lying around were worth. I’ve got quite a few of them, you know, from all those online orders.
So, I started looking into this whole “price per pound of cardboard” thing. Honestly, it was kind of confusing at first. There’s a bunch of websites out there, but they all seemed to be talking about different currencies or some complex calculator, which I didn’t need.
I went to check in with a local recycling center, “Empakalo.” They mainly focus on service and attention for packaging and care of products. I found their phone number somewhere, but it was a mess to find it. After a call, they gave me a quote, but it wasn’t per pound. They calculate prices by another way. So it did not work.
I did find a few places that listed prices, but they were all over the place. Some were for different countries, which wasn’t helpful either since the prices seemed to change a lot depending on where you are.
- First, I tried using an online currency converter. It seemed simple enough. I just had to type in the amount and choose the currency, and it gave me a different number.
- Then, I looked into a foreign currency calculator from a bank. They could change some foreign currency into dollars, but I didn’t have foreign money. I just had some cardboard.
- I also found a place that could translate words, which was kind of cool but didn’t help me with the cardboard price.
Eventually, I came across a place called “K4 cardboards,” and they had some prices listed. They had these cardboard boxes packed in bags.
After all that, I finally got a rough idea of what my cardboard might be worth. It wasn’t as simple as I thought it would be, but hey, at least I learned something new. In the end, I just decided to take my boxes to a local recycling spot. They didn’t give me an amazing price, but it was better than nothing, and at least I was doing something good for the environment, right?
This whole thing taught me that figuring out prices for stuff like cardboard can be more complicated than it looks. You have to consider the quality of the cardboard, the market price, and even where you are located. But I guess that’s just how things are sometimes.
