Okay, so today I want to talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately – divination. Yeah, that’s right, like trying to see the future and stuff. I’ve always been kind of curious about this whole thing, so I finally decided to give it a go myself. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
First off, I had to figure out what tools I wanted to use. I mean, there are tons of options out there. I started with some Tarot cards. I got a deck online, and they’re pretty cool looking, with all sorts of symbols and pictures. I spent some time just shuffling them, getting a feel for them, you know? Then, I started trying to do some simple readings, just for myself. It was mostly just pulling a few cards and seeing what they might mean. There are books and stuff online that help you interpret the cards, which was super helpful, honestly. I did not fully understand what the meaning of those cards is.
But I didn’t stop there. I also got into using dice. It is some regular six-sided dice, the kind you use in board games. It is interesting how I felt when I held the dice. It seems like some kind of magic is happening there. I found out there are ways to use them for divination too. I tried throwing two or three at a time and adding up the numbers. There are charts you can use to interpret the results, but I also just tried to go with my gut feeling on what the numbers might mean. It’s kind of like trying to read a secret code or something.
- Tarot Cards: Got a deck, shuffled them, did some basic readings using guidebooks.
- Dice: Used regular six-sided dice, threw them, and interpreted the numbers using charts and intuition.
- I Ching: Started reading a copy of the I Ching and trying to do some readings with coins.
I even picked up a copy of the I Ching, which is this ancient Chinese book of wisdom. It’s a bit complicated, but I’ve been trying to learn how to use it. You’re supposed to ask a question and then toss coins to get a reading. It’s pretty deep stuff, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it, but it’s fascinating. I’ve done a few readings with it, and it’s given me some interesting things to think about.
Diving Deeper into Divination
So, after getting my feet wet with those tools, I started to explore other methods. I heard about scrying, which is basically looking into something reflective to try to see visions. I got a black scrying mirror, which is just this smooth, dark surface. It’s kind of spooky, but I’ve been trying to use it to meditate and see if anything comes to me. I haven’t had any major breakthroughs yet, but it’s a relaxing process, at least. I also got some scrying stones, like obsidian and onyx, which are supposed to be good for this kind of thing. I hold them in my hands and try to focus my mind, and sometimes I feel like I’m getting little glimpses of something, but it’s hard to say for sure. I tried to stare into the mirror and stones.
I found out that a lot of divination practices are connected to nature. It makes sense, I guess. I read about people using things like tea leaves, bones, and water for divination. I haven’t tried those yet, but it sounds interesting. I did try to pay more attention to the natural world around me, though. Like, I’d watch the way the clouds move or how the birds are acting, and try to see if there’s any meaning in it. It’s kind of like trying to find patterns in everything. I did not succeed, but I still tried it.

It’s also possible to do divination with your own body, apparently. Things like meditation and dreams can be used to get insights. I’ve been trying to meditate more regularly, just sitting quietly and focusing on my breath. Sometimes I feel like I get ideas or insights during meditation, but it’s hard to tell if it’s just my imagination or something more. As for dreams, I’ve been trying to remember them better by keeping a dream journal. I write down whatever I can remember as soon as I wake up. Most of my dreams are just weird and random, but every now and then, I have one that feels significant, like it’s trying to tell me something.
This whole divination thing has been a real learning experience. It’s not like I suddenly have all the answers or anything, but it’s made me think about things in a new way. It’s like opening up to the possibility that there’s more to the world than what we can see on the surface. I’m still figuring it all out, but I’m enjoying the process. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually get good at this stuff. Until then, I’ll just keep practicing and see where it takes me. And I tried to share my experiences with my friends, but they all laughed at me.
