Okay, here’s my sharing about making a Capricorn candle.
So, I’ve been wanting to make a special candle for a while now. You know, something unique and personalized. I got this idea to make a zodiac-themed candle, specifically for Capricorns, since my best friend’s birthday is coming up, and she’s a Capricorn. It falls between December 23 and January 20, I just checked that.
First, I did a little digging online to see what others have done. I searched for “Capricorn candle” and found a ton of stuff. Some were just simple candles with the Capricorn symbol, and others were more elaborate with crystals and herbs. I even saw one with a 40-hour burn time, which is pretty impressive! Also, I found one store that has a zodiac candle selection. They are great holiday gifts for someone who loves horoscope and astrology.
After getting some inspiration, I decided to gather my materials. Here’s what I got:
- Soy wax: I chose soy wax because it’s natural and burns cleaner than paraffin.
- A 6 oz tin holder: This was just the right size for the amount of wax I was using.
- Essential oils: I went with earthy scents like patchouli and sandalwood, which are often associated with Capricorns.
- A wick: You can’t have a candle without a wick, right?
- A thermometer: This is important for getting the wax to the right temperature.
- A double boiler: To melt the wax safely.
Once I had everything, I started the process. First, I melted the soy wax in the double boiler. I used the thermometer to make sure it reached the right temperature, around 180 degrees, or something like that. When it was fully melted, I added the essential oils and mixed it all up. Then, I prepared the tin container, put the wick in it, and secured the wick in place. It took some time, but it was fun.
Next, I carefully poured the melted wax into the tin, making sure not to move the wick. After that, it was just a matter of waiting for the candle to cool and harden. It took a few hours, but it was worth the wait. I was so happy to see my first Capricorn candle!

The finished candle looked amazing! It had a beautiful, earthy scent, and the tin container gave it a nice, rustic look. I’m pretty sure my friend will love it. I might even make more of these for other zodiac signs. It was such a fun and rewarding experience, and I can’t wait to do it again!
