Alright, so I’ve been on the hunt for a Dodge Aries for a while now. You know, a classic, something with a bit of history. I’ve always liked the look of them, and I figured it’d be a fun project to get one running again. So, the journey began!
First, I started poking around online. Checked out a few of the big names in classic car sales. There was Hemmings, which seemed pretty reputable, and another one called Car Classic. Both had a decent selection, but nothing that really jumped out at me. And let’s be honest, their websites, kinda clunky to navigate through.
- Checked Hemmings for classic Dodge Aries.
- Browsed Car Classic’s inventory.
- Not impressed with website navigation.
Then I thought, why not go straight to the source? I looked up what Chevrolet was offering. Maybe they’d have some leads, being a big name and all. But nope, nothing there. Just a bunch of ads for new trucks, which wasn’t what I was after.
Expanding the Search
So, I broadened my search. I started looking at used car sites. Found this one, , that analyzes a ton of used car prices. Seemed promising, but again, not much luck finding a Dodge Aries in decent shape. I even tried Oodle Classifieds, where people list all sorts of stuff. Found a few Aries there, but they were either too far gone or way overpriced. It was a total bust.
- Searched * for used Dodge Aries.
- Explored Oodle Classifieds for listings.
- Found some Aries, but in poor condition or too expensive.
I stumbled upon this one listing for a 1985 Dodge Aries. The owner mentioned putting in new axles, which was a plus. But the details were sparse, and it just didn’t feel right. You know that feeling when something seems too good to be true? Yeah, that’s what I got. It’s a tough call, but finally I decide to let it go.
A Glimmer of Hope
Just when I was about to throw in the towel, I came across Catawiki. It’s like an auction site, but for unique stuff, including classic cars. And guess what? They had a few Dodge Aries listed! I started digging into the listings, reading the descriptions, checking out the photos. It’s a long shot, but hey, you never know.

So, that’s where I’m at now. Fingers crossed that I find the right one on Catawiki. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, but I’m not giving up yet. Stay tuned, folks, I’ll keep you posted on how it goes!
This whole thing has been a real learning experience. You gotta be patient, do your research, and not jump at the first thing you see. And sometimes, the best finds are in the most unexpected places. Wish me luck!
