I’ve been messing around with some divination stuff lately, and I thought it would be cool to try out some coin divination. You know, like flipping coins to get some answers or guidance. It’s pretty simple, but I figured I’d share my little experiment here.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed three coins. I used quarters because that’s what I had lying around. Any coins would do, really. Then, I found a quiet spot where I could concentrate. I needed to clear my head and focus on the question I wanted to ask.
The Process
I held the coins in my hand and shook them for a bit while thinking about my question. I tried to really focus and put my intention into the coins. It felt a little silly at first, but I went with it. After shaking them up, I tossed the coins onto a flat surface. I made sure they landed so I could see them.
- Heads, heads, heads – this is some kind of strong yang line, or whatever, meaning big change
- Heads, heads, tails – this means a regular yang line, still positive but not as crazy
- Tails, tails, heads – this is a yin line, more about receiving and stuff
- Tails, tails, tails – a strong yin line, so a big change but in a yin way.
I did this six times, one for each line. I wrote down the results each time, starting from the bottom and going up, like building a little tower of heads and tails. It’s like this old-school way of doing it, which is pretty neat. Each throw represented a line in a hexagram, and I built it from the bottom up. After six throws, I had my complete hexagram. It looked something like this:
- Throw 1: Heads, Tails, Tails
- Throw 2: Heads, Heads, Tails
- Throw 3: Tails, Tails, Tails
- Throw 4: Heads, Heads, Heads
- Throw 5: Tails, Tails, Heads
- Throw 6: Heads, Tails, Tails
Making Sense of It
Once I had my hexagram, I looked it up. I just used a simple guide I found that explains what each hexagram means. It’s all about interpreting the patterns and seeing how they relate to your question. I spent some time reading about my hexagram, and it was actually pretty interesting. It gave me some things to think about, and it kinda resonated with my situation.
Honestly, the whole experience was pretty chill. It was more about taking some time to reflect and consider different perspectives than getting concrete answers. I’m not sure if I totally buy into the whole divination thing, but it was a fun exercise. It definitely gave me some food for thought. Might do it again sometime when I’m feeling particularly indecisive about something.
