Okay, so, the Sagittarius phone case project. Let me tell you, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be!
First, I sketched out a bunch of designs. I’m a Sagittarius, so I wanted something that captured that whole adventurous, fiery spirit. I ended up with like, five different sketches, ranging from a minimalist arrow design to something way more… flamboyant. Seriously, one had glitter. I’m not even a glitter person.
Then came the choosing part. I agonized over this for, like, a solid hour. Coffee was involved. Eventually, I settled on a design that had a simple, stylized arrow with some constellations woven in. Subtle, but still “me”.
Next up: finding the right materials. I originally wanted to use this really cool, textured fabric I found, but it turned out to be way too thick for a phone case. So, I ended up going with a thin, flexible plastic sheet. It was a bit of a pain to work with, honestly, kept wanting to crack.
The actual printing was pretty easy. I used my home printer. It wasn’t perfect – I had to do a couple of test prints to get the ink levels just right – but hey, it worked. The colours looked amazing, almost exactly like I imagined it.
Cutting the plastic to the right shape? That was a whole other story. I used an X-ACTO knife, and let me tell you, I nearly sliced my finger off a couple of times. My precision isn’t exactly surgical-level. It took a few tries, and a fair bit of swearing, but I got it done. It wasn’t perfect – a little wonky around the edges – but honestly, who’s gonna notice? It was only me, after all.

Finally, the assembly. This involved carefully adhering the printed plastic to the phone case’s inner shell. It’s like a sandwich, you know, printed design in the middle. It sounds easier than it was. Getting the alignment perfectly? Impossible. A few air bubbles snuck in, which kinda bugged me, but again, not a major disaster. The whole thing took hours.
So, there you have it. My Sagittarius phone case. It’s not perfect, and I wouldn’t sell it or anything. But it’s mine. It’s uniquely me, slightly wonky, and a testament to my late-night crafting skills. And you know what? I’m kinda proud of it. It’s a little quirky, a little imperfect. Just like me.
- Design Choices: Multiple sketches, arrow and constellation theme selected.
- Material Selection: Initial fabric choice discarded, thin plastic sheet used.
- Printing Process: Home printer used, multiple test prints required.
- Cutting: X-ACTO knife used, multiple attempts, minor imperfections.
- Assembly: Printed plastic carefully adhered to phone case, minor air bubbles present.
And that’s my story! Let me know if you guys want to see pics.
