Okay, so the other day I got this idea to make some cool constellation art. You know, those star patterns in the sky? I figured it would be a fun little project and maybe even make a nice decoration for my room. So, I started by looking for some resources.
Finding the Right Stuff
First, I needed to find some good, clear images of constellations. I did some searching online and found a few websites that had printable versions. I wanted something simple, just the basic star outlines, nothing too fancy.
I ended up picking a few of my favorites: Ursa Major (the Big Dipper, obviously!), Orion, and Cassiopeia. I downloaded the images to my computer, making sure they were high enough quality to print without looking blurry.
Printing Time
Next up was actually printing them out. I’ve got a regular inkjet printer at home. I loaded in some normal paper. I could use something fancier, like photo paper, but I thought I would just see how it looked on regular paper.
I opened up the images on my computer and hit print. One by one, the constellations started appearing on the paper. It was pretty cool to see them taking shape!
Making it Look Nice
After they were all printed, I decided to do a little extra something. I took a black marker and carefully colored in the background around the stars, leaving the stars white. This made them pop out a bit more and I try to give them a more “night sky” look, and I did not go outside the lines.

- Printed Constellations:
- Ursa Major
- Orion
- Cassiopeia
- Used black marker for the background.
- They looked pretty awesome!
I’m pretty happy with how they turned out! It was a fun, easy project, and now I have some unique constellation prints to hang up. Maybe I’ll even try some more constellations later, or try use fancy black paper and a white marker.
