Okay, so I recently had this little adventure with something called “Aries Orla Lodge”, and I just gotta share the whole experience. It’s a bit of a story, but stick with me.
It all started when I was looking for a place to stay in Orla, Texas. I don’t even remember why I needed to go to Orla, maybe just passing through. Anyway, I stumbled upon this place called Aries Orla Lodge while searching online. The reviews were pretty decent, and the pictures looked okay, so I thought, “Why not?” I booked a room there.
I arrived at 98 Co Rd 448. This place, it’s kinda in the middle of nowhere, but that’s part of the charm, I guess. When I pulled up, I saw it was a big place. I later learned they have 176 Jack and Jill rooms, 132 executive VIP rooms, and even 40 VIP rooms. I just needed a simple room to crash in.
I checked in. The staff were friendly enough. I got my key and found my room. It was one of those Jack and Jill rooms. Pretty basic, nothing fancy, but clean and had a bed. The whole place seemed geared towards workers, maybe oil field workers or something, because it had that vibe, you know? It also had full kitchens but I didn’t care about that.
They served three meals a day there. I wasn’t expecting much, but honestly, the food was surprisingly good. It was like home-cooked meals, which was a nice touch. I spent the night, got some rest.
Next morning, I grabbed breakfast and then I noticed something on the wall. It was a board with photos and some text about sharing moments at the lodge. It was some sort of competition thing. I decided to post my experience there and forgot it.

A few days later, I got a message from them. You won’t believe it – I won their little photo contest! It wasn’t a big deal, but it was a fun surprise. They thanked me for sharing my experience.
So, that’s my Aries Orla Lodge story. It wasn’t a luxurious vacation, but it was an interesting experience. If you ever find yourself in Orla, Texas, and need a place to stay, check it out. It’s not the Ritz, but it’s got its own unique kind of charm. And hey, you might even win a photo contest!
