Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with astrology lately, and I just had to try a Sagittarius-themed nail design. I’m a Sag myself, so, you know, gotta represent!
First, I gathered my supplies. I already had a bunch of nail polishes, thankfully. I made sure I had these:
- A deep, royal purple – because Sagittarius is a regal sign, duh.
- A shimmery gold – for that adventurous, optimistic vibe.
- A plain white – for some clean accents.
- A good base coat and top coat – gotta protect those nails!
- Some thin nail art brushes – for the details, of course.
- Dotting tools – Various sizes, to get creative.
The Prep Work Begins
I started by prepping my nails. You know the drill: remove any old polish, push back the cuticles, file and shape them. I went for a slightly rounded shape this time, felt kinda Sagittarius-y to me, less edgy, and more, free.
Putting the Base
Next up, base coat. Super important, don’t skip this step! Then, I did two coats of the royal purple on all my nails except my ring fingers. Those got two coats of the shimmery gold.
The Fun Part- Design
Now for the fun part – the actual design! On my gold accent nails, I used the purple and a thin brush to draw the Sagittarius symbol – you know, the little arrow. It took a few tries to get it right, my hand was a little shaky at first, but practice will get you there. You just have to keep trying until it is passable.
The Final Steps
On my purple nails, I decided to go for a constellation vibe. I used the white polish and a dotting tool to create little dots, then connected some of them with super thin lines using the nail art brush. It kinda looked like a starry night, which I thought was pretty fitting. I added a few random gold dots for some extra sparkle.

Let It Shine!
Finally, I finished it all off with a generous layer of top coat to seal everything in and make it super shiny. And that’s it! My Sagittarius nail art was complete.
It wasn’t perfect, some of the lines were a little wonky, and one of the arrows looked a bit more like a lopsided triangle, but hey, I’m pretty proud of it! It’s definitely a conversation starter, and it feels good to express my star sign in a creative way. Might try a different design next time, maybe incorporate some turquoise, since that’s the Sagittarius birthstone. We’ll see!
