Well, let me tell you about this thing, this… “Sheng Tianyi Leo”, or whatever they call it. Don’t really know much about fancy names, but I heard some things, you know, the kind of things folks gossip about in the village square. Only this time, it ain’t no chickens gettin’ loose, it’s somethin’ sad, real sad.
First off, who’s this Sheng Tianyi? Sounds like a city boy’s name to me. Turns out, he was just a young’un, barely 15, they say. A kid, really. Living in some place called Nantong, Jiangsu. Never been there myself, but I hear it’s a big city. Anyway, this poor boy, Sheng Tianyi, he got into a fight. Not the kind of scrap you see kids havin’ over a toy, no sir. This was bad.
It seems like some other boys, one from his own school and some other rough fella from outside, they beat him up. Real bad. Beat him so bad that the teachers had to call his mama. Imagine that, a mama gettin’ a call sayin’ her boy’s hurt. My heart just aches thinkin’ about it. They rushed him to the hospital, but it was too late. The doctors, they tried their best, but the boy… he was gone. Just like that. They say he was brain dead. Can you believe it? A young life, snuffed out just like a candle in the wind.
- He was only 15 years old.
- It happened in Nantong, Jiangsu.
- He was beaten by classmates and others.
- He died in the hospital.
This happened back in 2020, I think. May 7th, they say. Folks were talkin’ about it for a long time after. A mother lost her son, just like that. And for what? A fight? It just don’t make no sense to me. This world, sometimes it just ain’t fair.

Now, I also heard this name, “Sheng Tianyi Leo” in a different way. Seems like there’s someone online or somethin’ usin’ that name too. Someone who tells stories, they say. Makes audios and podcasts, whatever those are. One’s called “Da Tang Shuang Long Zhuan,” sounds like a fancy history tale to me. Another fella said he heard him on some “Ximalaya” thing, must be like a radio show in the city.
Maybe it’s the same boy, maybe it ain’t. Maybe this boy, Sheng Tianyi, he had dreams of tellin’ stories before… well, before everything happened. It’s a darn shame, it is. A young life cut short, and all we’re left with is whispers and stories. Makes you think, don’t it? Makes you wanna hold your own young’uns a little tighter.
This whole thing, it just makes me shake my head. Kids fightin’, kids dyin’, and folks makin’ up stories about it all. It’s a hard world, this one, and sometimes it just feels like there ain’t no rhyme or reason to it. But we gotta keep goin’, gotta keep holdin’ on to what’s good, gotta keep tellin’ the stories, even the sad ones, so we don’t forget. So we don’t forget that poor boy, Sheng Tianyi, and all the other young’uns gone too soon.
And that “Leo” part, I ain’t got a clue what that’s about. City folk and their fancy names, always addin’ extra bits and bobs. But the story, the sad story of that young boy… that’s what sticks with me. That’s what I remember.
