Okay, so I’ve been on this espresso journey for a while now, and my old grinder just wasn’t cutting it. I kept seeing the Eureka Mignon Libra pop up in forums and reviews, so I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. Here’s how it went down.
Getting Started
First thing, I unboxed this thing. It’s pretty hefty, felt solid, which is a good sign. I read through the manual – yeah, I’m one of those people – and it seemed straightforward enough. I got my beans (my usual medium roast from a local roaster) and filled up the hopper.
The First Grind
The Libra is all about grind-by-weight, which is what I was after. So, I set the dial to my usual dose, around 18 grams. I hit the button, and wow, this thing is quiet! Way quieter than my old grinder. It ground the beans, and the display showed the weight. It was pretty much spot-on, which was impressive for the first try.
Dialing It In
Of course, the first shot wasn’t perfect. It pulled a little fast, so I knew I needed to go finer. The adjustment dial on the Libra is stepless, which means you can make tiny, tiny changes. I turned it a bit, ground another dose, and pulled another shot. This time, it was much better – the extraction time was right in that sweet spot, and the taste was noticeably improved.
- First shot: Too fast, slightly sour.
- Second shot: Much better, balanced flavor.
Making it a Routine
I’ve been using the Libra for a couple of weeks now, and I’m really loving it. It’s so consistent. I weigh my dose, grind it, and I know I’m getting the same amount every time. No more guessing! My morning espresso routine is so much smoother now. The Libra is a fantastic grinder.
Clean Up
I brushed out any loose grounds and gave the hopper a quick wipe. It’s all pretty easy to keep tidy.

Overall, I’m super happy with the Mignon Libra. It’s made a big difference in my espresso game. It’s consistent, quiet, and just a pleasure to use. If you’re looking for a solid grind-by-weight grinder, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
