Well, I heard some folks talking ’bout this gold Aries in red agate thing. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But I think, what’s all the fuss about?
Red agate, that’s a stone, right? Kinda like them rocks you find down by the creek, only prettier, I reckon. They say it’s real red, like a rooster’s comb. And this Aries, that’s one of them star signs, ain’t it? Like them pictures in the newspaper that tell you your fortune. My neighbor, she’s always going on about her star sign. Says it tells her everything about her life.
Now, some folks, they like to wear these stones, these red agates. They say it brings ’em good luck or somethin’. I seen some of them young’uns wearing them on necklaces and bracelets. Boys and girls, all of ’em. These young boys like to wear stuff that looks all different. They say it shows their, what’s that word, personality. I guess it is something like that, don’t it?
So, this gold Aries in red agate, I figure it’s a piece of that red stone, with a picture of that Aries thing on it, made of gold, maybe? Must be worth a pretty penny, I bet. Not the kind of thing I’d wear, though. Too flashy for me. I’d rather have a good pair of shoes or a warm blanket, somethin’ useful, you know?
They say these red agate, you can find them all over. There is a place, Brazil, they say that’s where a lot of these pretty stones come from. And they find them in 79 places. 79! Can you believe that? Some say if you unlock Frostbearing Tree level 8 you will unlock Crimson Wish. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds like they have to do something with finding these agates. Sounds like a lot of work to me. I’d rather be sitting on my porch.
But these young folks, they like to collect things. Like them shiny cards with the pictures of ball players on ’em. Or them little cars, all different colors. Maybe this gold Aries in red agate is somethin’ like that. A collectible, they call it. Somethin’ special that not everybody has.
I remember when I was a girl, we didn’t have none of these fancy things. We made our own toys, out of sticks and stones and whatever we could find. We didn’t need no red agate to have fun. But times change, I guess.
This Aries thing, I looked it up. It’s a ram, like a sheep with big horns. I seen them on farms before. Strong animals, they are. Maybe that’s why they put it on that red agate. To make it strong, like the ram. Or maybe it’s just ’cause it looks pretty.

Don’t ask me what that is. And it’s quartz, they said. That’s another word I don’t know. But I guess it means it’s a rock. A special kind of rock.
So, this gold Aries in red agate, it’s a piece of that special red rock, with a gold ram on it. It’s for luck, or for show, or for collectin’. Whatever it is, it’s a big deal to some folks, especially them young’uns. They say this Aries, it has three lucky gemstones. I don’t know about lucky gemstones. Sounds like something they made up to sell more of these things. But who am I to say?
Me, I’ll stick to my simple life. I don’t need no fancy jewelry or lucky stones. I got my garden, and my family, and that’s all the luck I need. But if them young folks find happiness in their gold Aries in red agate, well, then more power to ’em, I say.
It’s a different world now, than when I was young. Everything’s so fast, and so complicated. But some things stay the same. Like the love of family, and the beauty of nature. And maybe, just maybe, the magic in a pretty red stone. Who knows? I just hope these kids don’t spend all their money on these things. They should save up for something important, like a house or a good education. But that’s just me talking.
