Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this whole divination thing for a while now, and I gotta say, it’s pretty wild. I used to just mess around with crystals and stuff, like most people do, but then I got into herbs. Yeah, you heard that right – plants. Turns out, people have been using these green guys for centuries for all sorts of spiritual stuff, not just making your food taste good.
I started with mugwort ’cause I heard it was good for, like, trippy dreams and getting in touch with your psychic side. I mean, who wouldn’t want that, right? It’s got this chemical in it called thujone that messes with your brain in a good way, kinda like a chill pill but also kinda like a key to another dimension.
So, here’s what I did:
- First, I got myself some dried mugwort. You can find it online or in those witchy stores that smell like incense and mystery.
- Then, before bed, I’d make a tea with it. Just boil some water, throw in a pinch of mugwort, and let it steep for a few minutes. It tastes kinda earthy, not gonna lie, but it’s not terrible.
- I’d drink the tea while setting my intention, I thought real hard about what I wanted to see or learn in my dreams. And I used that word because everyone says to use “intention” when trying to do witchy stuff.
- Then, bam, off to sleep I went.
The first few times, nothing crazy happened. But then, I started having these super vivid dreams. Like, we’re talking HD, surround sound, full-sensory experiences. I even started remembering my dreams more clearly, which was a trip in itself.
More Experimenting
But I didn’t stop at mugwort. I got curious and started checking out other herbs. Rosemary, Hyssop, Oregano, Motherwort, Burdock. They are all old-school herbs that folks used way back when for, well everything magical or medicinal it seems like.
I used them in different ways, depending on what I read or what some old hippy at the farmer’s market told me. Sometimes I’d burn them as incense, other times I’d add them to my bath, and sometimes I’d just carry them around in a little pouch like some kinda good luck charm.

Now, I’m not saying I’m suddenly seeing the future or talking to spirits, but I definitely feel more connected to something bigger than myself. It’s like I’ve tapped into this ancient, natural energy that’s been there all along, just waiting for me to notice. My dreams are more vivid, I feel more intuitive, and I am trusting my gut now more than I ever have.
So, yeah, that’s my journey into the world of herbs for divination. It’s been a wild ride, and I’m definitely gonna keep exploring. Who knows what other secrets these plants are hiding?
