Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to make a t-shirt for one of my favorite bands, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, for a while now. I finally got around to doing it, and I thought I’d share my process with you all.
First, I had to find a good picture of Ted Leo. This took a while, scrolling through a bunch of images online. I finally found one I liked and saved it to my computer.
Next, I opened up my trusty old image editing software. I’m not going to name-drop any programs here. Anyway, I imported the picture into the software and started playing around with it.
- I converted the image to black and white, because I wanted a simple, two-tone design for the shirt.
- Then, I messed around with the contrast and brightness to make sure the details were clear and that it would look good when printed.
- I also resized the image to fit the front of a t-shirt. This part was pretty straightforward.
After that, I saved the design as a PNG file. I chose PNG because it supports transparency, which is important for t-shirt printing.
Now came the fun part – finding a place to print my shirt. I looked at a few online printing services. I compared their prices, shipping times, and reviews. Finally, I settled on one that seemed pretty good. I uploaded my design, chose the shirt color and size, and placed my order.
It took about a week for the shirt to arrive. When it finally did, I was super excited! I tore open the package and there it was – my very own custom-made Ted Leo and the Pharmacists shirt!

I’m really happy with how it turned out. The print quality is great, and the shirt itself is comfortable. I’ve already worn it a couple of times, and I’ve gotten a few compliments on it. I also had some questions about this band. Now, I’m already thinking about what my next design will be. Maybe I’ll do one for The Both, another band that Ted’s in. Or maybe I’ll branch out and do something completely different. The possibilities are endless!
Anyway, I just wanted to share my little t-shirt-making adventure with you all. It was a fun and rewarding project, and I encourage anyone who’s interested to give it a try. You don’t need to be a professional designer or anything. Just find an image you like, play around with it, and see what you come up with!
