Alright, so you wanna know about this Shaw Inc. fella, Troy Virgo, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I heard. This fella, Troy, he’s a big shot over at Shaw Industries. You know, that big company that makes all them floor coverings? Yeah, that one. They make carpets and wood floors and all sorts of stuff for your house, and even for them big office buildings.
Shaw Industries is a big deal, ya know? They sell stuff all over the world, not just here. And Troy, he’s the “Director of Sustainability and Product Stewardship”. Now, don’t ask me what all that fancy talk means, but from what I gather, he’s the fella in charge of makin’ sure Shaw does things the right way. You know, not pollutin’ the air and water, and makin’ sure their stuff is safe for folks to use.
I heard tell he’s been into this “environmental stuff” for a long time. Cares about the air and the water, you know, like them tree-huggers. Always tryin’ to make things better for the planet, I guess. Good for him, I say. Someone’s gotta do it, right? This world’s gettin’ mighty messy.
- He works outta Dalton, Georgia. That’s where Shaw has their headquarters, I think.
- He’s been at Shaw for a while, workin’ his way up, I reckon.
- They say Shaw makes a whole lotta money, billions of dollars, they say. That’s more money than I can even imagine.
Now, they say Troy ain’t just about work neither. He’s also into this “bicycling thing”, you know, them pedal bikes. He helped get folks in Dalton ridin’ bikes. Buildin’ up bike paths and stuff. That’s nice, I guess. Gets people movin’ and outta their cars.
Berkshire Hathaway, that big company run by that rich fella, Warren somethin’-or-other, they own Shaw. So, Troy, he works for a real big company, ya see? It ain’t no small-time operation. That’s why he’s got such a fancy title, all them “sustainability” words. But from what I hear, he’s a good fella, tryin’ to do right by the world.

He’s got a profile on somethin’ called “LinkedIn,” which is like a place where all the fancy business folks hang out online. I don’t know much about that stuff, but my grandson showed me once. It’s all just a bunch of talk and braggin’ if you ask me.
Seems like Troy’s in charge of somethin’ called “Eco Label programs” and “certification standards”. Sounds like a whole lotta paperwork to me. But I guess it’s important to make sure things are made right and don’t harm nobody. He’s gotta make sure Shaw’s products meet certain standards, so folks know they’re buyin’ somethin’ good and safe.
This “product stewardship” part, I think that means he’s gotta make sure Shaw’s products are taken care of from the beginnin’ to the end. You know, from the time they make ‘em to the time they get thrown away. Tryin’ to make sure they don’t end up in the landfill, I guess. Recyclin’ and all that.
Anyway, that’s about all I know about this Troy Virgo fella. He sounds like a hard-workin’ man, tryin’ to do good at his job. And workin’ for a big company like Shaw, that’s a pretty big deal. He must be doin’ somethin’ right.
So, there you have it. The lowdown on Troy Virgo and Shaw Inc., from what I’ve heard and pieced together. Ain’t no fancy talk, just plain and simple, the way I see it. He’s a big shot at a big company, tryin’ to make things a little better, and that’s alright by me.
