Okay, so, I’ve been getting into this thing called Ogham lately. It’s like this old Celtic alphabet, but people also use it for divination. I thought it would be a cool thing to try out, and I figured I’d share my little experiment with you guys.
First, I needed to, you know, actually get my hands on some Ogham symbols. I found this neat little set online that had the symbols carved into wooden pieces. I guess you could make your own, too, but I’m not really the crafty type, so, I just ordered them and they arrived a few days ago. Very fast.
Once I got the Ogham set, I spent some time just, like, looking at each piece. Each symbol is linked to a tree or plant, which is pretty cool. I don’t know much about trees, but I did a little digging online, just to get a feel for what each symbol is supposed to represent.
- Birch – new beginnings, purification
- Rowan – protection, intuition
- Alder – resilience, determination
- Willow – intuition, emotions
- Ash – connection, wisdom
After getting familiar with the pieces, I decided to try a simple divination. It’s like flipping a coin. The idea is to pull a symbol randomly and then think about what it means in your life right now. I shuffled the wooden pieces in a bag, closed my eyes, and pulled one out.
I got the symbol for “Birch”, which, as I learned, is all about new beginnings and purification. Honestly, it kind of resonated with me. I’ve been thinking about making some changes in my life, so it felt relevant. It’s like a fresh start or something.
I spent some time just meditating on that symbol and what it could mean for me. It’s not like I got some clear-cut answer or anything, but it gave me some food for thought. It was actually a pretty relaxing process, just sitting there, focusing on the symbol and its meaning.

I’ve done this a few more times since then, pulling out different symbols and reflecting on them. It’s not about predicting the future or anything like that. For me, it’s more about self-reflection and just getting in touch with my inner thoughts. That’s why I started doing it.
My Personal Ogham Journey
This whole Ogham thing has been a neat little journey for me. It’s like a tool for introspection and a way to connect with nature in a way. I’m not an expert or anything, but it’s been a fun and thought-provoking experience.
If you’re into this kind of thing, I’d say give Ogham a try. It’s a cool way to explore your own thoughts and maybe get a fresh perspective on things. It’s not some magic trick, but it’s a cool practice.
