Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while, and I finally decided to go for it! Being a Sagittarius, I naturally wanted something that represented my sign. I’m a guy, so I didn’t want anything too flowery or delicate. I wanted a Sagittarius male tattoo. Here’s how the whole thing went down.
The Idea
First, I needed to figure out exactly what I wanted. I mean, “Sagittarius tattoo” is pretty broad. Did I want the archer? The centaur? Just the symbol? I spent a good few days just Googling images and saving stuff I liked. It was overwhelming, to be honest!
Finding an Artist
Next step, I started thinking of a style. and who to help do it. I got some good advice from one of my best friends:
- Ask around friends who had tattoos I liked.
- Checked out some online portfolios of local artists.
- looked at artist’s Instagram pages which helped a lot.
I finally found an artist whose style I really dug. He had a lot of bold, blackwork designs, which is exactly what I was looking for. We chatted for a bit, and he seemed to get my vibe.
The Design Process
I went in for a consultation, and we talked about what I wanted. I showed him some of the pictures I’d saved. I kept explaining what I wanted and he started sketching. After a few tweaks, we landed on a design I absolutely loved: a stylized archer, kind of minimalist, but with some really cool geometric details. He helped make some really cool suggestions and it was all a collaborative effort.
Getting Inked
The day of the tattoo, I was nervous, not gonna lie. It was my first one! But the artist was super chill, put on some good music, and we got started. It definitely hurt, especially on the bonier parts of my arm, but it wasn’t unbearable. We took a couple of breaks, and after about three hours, it was done!

The Result
I was so stoked with how it turned out! It’s exactly what I wanted: a strong, masculine representation of my Sagittarius sign. It’s bold, it’s unique, and it feels totally me. The healing process was pretty easy, just kept it clean and moisturized. Now, a few weeks later, it’s fully healed and I’m still loving it. Definitely no regrets here! I keep getting a lot of good feedback from my friends and family too!
