Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “aries velour” things popping up everywhere, and I finally decided to jump in and see what all the fuss was about. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure what to expect, but I’m always up for trying something new, especially when it involves crafting or DIY.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to figure out what I even wanted to make. I spent a good chunk of time scrolling through pictures for inspiration. I saw everything from cute little plushies to fancy wall hangings. I finally settled on making a small, decorative pillow. Seemed simple enough, right?
Gathering Supplies
Next up, the supply run. I grabbed some aries velour fabric – I went with a deep blue color, it just looked so luxurious. I also picked up some stuffing, a needle, and thread that matched the fabric. I already had scissors at home, so I was good to go on that front.
The Cutting Process
Time to get down to business! I laid out the fabric and used a simple square template I drew on a piece of paper. I carefully cut out two identical squares. This part was a little nerve-wracking because I didn’t want to mess up the fabric, but I took my time and it turned out fine.
Sewing It Together
Now for the sewing. I’m no expert seamstress, but I can handle a basic stitch. I pinned the two squares together, with the “good” sides facing each other. Then, I slowly started sewing around the edges, leaving a small gap on one side for the stuffing. I definitely pricked my finger a couple of times, but hey, that’s part of the process, I guess.
Stuffing and Finishing Touches
Once I had most of it sewn up, I flipped the fabric right-side out and began stuffing it. I used a chopstick to help push the stuffing into the corners. I wanted it to be nice and plump, but not overstuffed. After I was happy with the amount of stuffing, I carefully hand-stitched the opening closed. And that was it!

The Final Result
I have to say, I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely cute and adds a nice touch to my couch. Plus, it was super satisfying to make something with my own hands. I’m already thinking about what I want to make next – maybe a matching blanket? We’ll see!
