Well, howdy there! Let’s talk about this “Age of Aquarius” thing, you know, the one they say is in the Bible. I ain’t no scholar, mind you, just a plain ol’ woman, but I heard some things and read a bit, and I’ll tell ya what I reckon.
What is this Age of Aquarius Anyway?
So, this Age of Aquarius, they say it’s a time of big changes. Like, things gettin’ all mixed up and then comin’ together again. Sounds like a hen house after a fox gets in, then ya gotta clean it up and start over, right? They say it’s about folks forgettin’ their differences and comin’ together as one big family. No more fightin’ over this land or that land. Just everybody sharin’ and carin’. Sounds nice, don’t it? But is it in the Bible? That’s what folks are askin’.
The Bible and the Man with the Water Jug
Now, some folks point to a verse in the book of Luke, Luke 22:10 to be exact. It talks about a man carryin’ a pitcher of water. Jesus tells his fellas, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him.” Some smarty-pants types say this here fella with the water is a sign of Aquarius, you know, the water carrier in them star pictures. They say this means we’re enterin’ the Age of Aquarius, just like Jesus’ fellas entered that there city.

I don’t know about all that star stuff. Seems mighty complicated. But it does make ya think, don’t it? Maybe it ain’t about stars at all. Maybe it’s just about followin’ the good Lord’s word and bein’ kind to each other. That’s what my mama always told me, and it seems like good sense to me.
Big Changes Comin’
Folks say this Age of Aquarius is gonna shake things up. They say the old ways of doin’ things are gonna fade away and somethin’ new is gonna take its place. Like, maybe people won’t care so much about money and power. Maybe they’ll start carin’ more about each other and about this here Earth we live on. Wouldn’t that be somethin’?
I’ve seen a lot of changes in my time. Things ain’t the same as they used to be, that’s for sure. But one thing that never changes is the good Lord’s love. And if this Age of Aquarius is about lovin’ each other, well then, I reckon it’s a good thing.
The End of Times or a New Beginning?
- Some folks get all worked up and say this Age of Aquarius means the end of the world is comin’. They point to all the troubles we got – wars and famines and such – and they say it’s a sign.
- But I don’t see it that way. I think maybe it’s just a new beginnin’. Maybe it’s a chance for us to do better, to be better. Like when you plant seeds in the ground, the old plant dies, but somethin’ new and beautiful grows in its place.
It’s like that verse in Acts chapter 2, they say that’s got somethin’ to do with this Age of Aquarius too. It talks about the Holy Spirit comin’ down and changin’ folks. Maybe that’s what this is all about – a big change, a spiritual shift, as them fancy folks call it. People gettin’ closer to God and closer to each other.
What’s it all Mean, Really?
So, is the Age of Aquarius in the Bible? Well, it ain’t in there plain as day, like “Thou shalt not steal.” But maybe it’s in there in a different way. Maybe it’s in them stories about change and new beginnings. Maybe it’s in them words about lovin’ your neighbor. And maybe, just maybe, it’s up to us to make this Age of Aquarius a good thing.

We gotta stop fightin’ and start helpin’ each other. We gotta take care of this Earth, just like we take care of our own homes. And we gotta remember that we’re all in this together. That’s what I reckon this Age of Aquarius is all about, whether it’s in the Bible or not.
The Future is Unwritten
Nobody knows for sure what the future holds. But I believe that if we focus on doin’ what’s right, on bein’ kind and compassionate, then good things will happen. Maybe this Age of Aquarius will be a time of peace and prosperity. Maybe it will be a time when we finally learn to live together in harmony.
It ain’t gonna be easy, that’s for sure. There will be bumps in the road, just like there always is. But if we keep our eyes on the prize, if we keep our faith strong, then I believe we can make this world a better place. That’s what I hope for, anyway. And I reckon that’s somethin’ worth fightin’ for.
