Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this whole “spirit of divination” thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I wanted to share my experience, from start to finish, because it’s been pretty interesting, to say the least.
It all started with curiosity. I’d heard about people trying to tap into, like, their inner knowing, or whatever you want to call it. I’m not usually into this kind of stuff, but I figured, why not? I’m always up for trying something new, especially if it might give me some kind of weird insight.
Getting Started
First, I needed to figure out what I was even doing. I didn’t have any fancy tools or anything, so I decided to keep it simple. I grabbed a regular deck of playing cards, you know, the kind you use for poker or whatever. My initial thought was that to get a basic answer, you’re going to want to start with something simple, like a yes or no answer, if the cards are red it’s a yes and a no if they are black. Simple right?
- Find a Quiet Spot: I went to my bedroom, closed the door, and made sure the cat wouldn’t bother me. Peace and quiet were key, I figured.
- Clear My Head: I sat down, closed my eyes, and took a few deep breaths. Tried to push all the random thoughts out of my brain. This was harder than it sounds, by the way.
- Shuffle With Intention, Or Whatever: I shuffled the cards, trying to focus on my question. To be honest, I felt a little silly, but I went with it. The question was “Should I start learning a new language?”
- Pick a card: Simple pick a card any card. Mine was black, indicating that the answer was no.
Round two, with a little twist.
I Decided to repeat the process again, to see if I would get a different outcome, or the same. I found my quiet spot again, cleared my head like before, and got to shuffling again, I had a hard time focusing on my question, which was the same question as before. I then picked a card, and this time it was red! a completely different result.
This got me thinking, what if this time I use multiple cards, perhaps a spread like I had seen before with tarot cards?
The three-card spread.
I went ahead and did the process again, but instead of just one card, I decided on three. Shuffled them with the question in mind, this time making sure I had more focus. I spread the card out face down and chose my three, each would have a different meaning. The first card represented the past, the second was the present and the third was the future,

and I flipped them.
- Past: Black.
- Present: Black.
- Future: Red.
Well, that was interesting, looks like things might not be ideal to start right now, but it looks promising later. I shuffled one last time and pull one last card to see if I should even bother. It was red!
My Takeaway
So, what did I learn from all this? Honestly, I’m not sure. It was fun, and it definitely made me think. Did I actually connect with some kind of “spirit of divination”? Maybe, maybe not. But it did get me to consider things from a different perspective, and that’s always a good thing. I mean, whether it’s all in my head or there’s something more to it, the act of focusing on a question and interpreting the results in some way is kind of useful in itself.
Would I recommend trying it? Sure, why not? It’s a harmless experiment, and you might just surprise yourself with what you come up with. Just don’t take it too seriously, and remember, it’s all about the journey, man.
