I had heard a lot about BC Rich guitars, especially the Virgo model. It looked cool, and I was curious about how it performed. So, I decided to get one and try it out for myself.
When I got the guitar, the first thing I noticed was its unique body shape. It really stood out, and I could see why people said it was eye-catching. It was screaming rock and roll! I started playing some basic chords, and it felt comfortable in my hands. I liked the neck; it wasn’t too thick or too thin, just right for my playing style.
Then, I wanted to see how well the guitar stayed in tune. I played for a while, bending the strings and doing some heavy strumming. To my surprise, it held its tune pretty well. I didn’t have to constantly adjust it, which was a big plus.
- Setup:The factory setup was decent. I only made minor adjustments to the string height to suit my preference.
- Playability:The neck felt smooth, and the frets were well-dressed. It was easy to move around the fretboard, and I could play for hours without feeling much fatigue.
- Tone:The pickups sounded pretty good. They had a clear, punchy tone that I thought would work well for rock and metal. I experimented with different pickup combinations and found some sounds that I really liked.
Key Observations
I also tested out the guitar’s tremolo system. It worked smoothly and added a nice vibrato effect to my playing. I could do some dive bombs and other tricks without any issues. The guitar came right back to tune, which was impressive. Some of my friends told me it is the first BC Rich guitar that they have seen with a Tune-O-Matic bridge, and it provides much more flexablity. I totally agree!
After playing the BC Rich Virgo for a few weeks, I was really happy with it. It was a solid guitar that performed well and looked great. I could see myself using it for gigs and recording sessions. It definitely lived up to the hype, and I was glad I decided to try it out.
Overall, my experience with the BC Rich Virgo was positive. It was a well-made guitar that offered a lot for its price. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish instrument. From the day I bought it, I knew this was made in USA and had a very high quality. You know, BC Rich made many guitars for rock stars. This made me feel even more connected to it.
