So, I’ve been messing around with scrap metal lately. You know, just trying to see what I can turn a buck on. And aluminum, well, that’s a popular one. I was wondering what is the price of aluminium, and how to find it?
First off, I hit up the internet. Gotta start somewhere, right? I typed in “aluminum price per pound” and a whole bunch of stuff popped up. Lots of charts, graphs, and numbers. It was a bit much, to be honest. But I did see that the price seems to be around $2 a pound right now. I learned aluminium price from the internet.
Finding the price
But here’s the thing, that’s just the general price. It’s not like you can walk into any scrap yard and get that. There’re different types of aluminum, and they all have different prices. Plus, those online prices are probably for big amounts, like industrial-level stuff. Not what I’m dealing with.
So, I figured I’d check out some local scrap yards. I called a few places, asked them what they were paying for aluminum. I learned how to find aluminium price. Most of them were way below that $2 mark. I’m talking cents per pound, not dollars. Kind of a bummer, but I guess that’s how it goes.
Going to the scrap yard
Next, I actually took some aluminum to a yard. I had a bunch of old cans, some window frames, that sort of thing. I sorted it all out, tried to make it look nice and clean. Figured that might help with the price.
- The guy at the yard looked it over, weighed it all up.
- He offered me a price that was, well, not great.
- But it was something. I ended up taking it.
I sold my aluminium to the scrap yard.
All in all, it was a learning experience. I didn’t get rich, but I did make a little money. And I figured out that the price of aluminum is a tricky thing. It depends on a lot of factors, and you’re not going to get the “internet price” at your local scrap yard. But hey, it’s still worth doing if you’ve got some aluminum lying around. Every little bit counts, right?
