Okay, so I was doing this crossword puzzle the other day, you know, the kind you find in the back of magazines? And I got totally stuck on this one clue: “Vegas constellation.” I was like, what the heck is that supposed to mean?
I racked my brain for a bit. I mean, I know a little about constellations – Orion, Big Dipper, the usual suspects. But “Vegas constellation”? Nothing was coming to mind. Was it some new constellation they discovered? Doubtful.
My Process of Elimination
So, I started thinking about what makes Vegas, well, Vegas. Bright lights, casinos, shows… the Strip! And then it hit me – maybe it wasn’t about actual stars in the sky. Maybe it was about something else entirely.
- First Try: I tried fitting in names of famous Vegas performers. You know, like “ELVIS” or “CELINE.” Nope, didn’t fit.
- Second Guess: Then I thought, maybe it’s a casino? “BELLAGIO”? Too long. “LUXOR”? Still no dice.
I was getting a little frustrated, I’m not gonna lie. I almost gave up, but I’m stubborn, especially with puzzles. So, I took a step back and tried a different approach. I started looking at the letters I did have filled in.
I think i had like “_ I _ _ A”. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to give me a new direction. I mumbled to myself, “What word fits there that has anything to do with Vegas and stars…?”
And then, BOOM! It finally clicked. “TIARA”! It fit perfectly, And it make sense. Think about it – a tiara is kind of like a mini-constellation of sparkly “stars” you wear on your head, right? And Vegas is all about that over-the-top bling and showgirl glam.

I was so proud of myself for finally cracking it. It’s funny how these things can trip you up, and then the answer seems so obvious once you find it. Just goes to show you, sometimes you gotta think outside the box – or, in this case, outside the actual galaxy!
