Okay, so I’ve been seeing these super cute constellation necklaces everywhere, and I really wanted one for Virgo, my sign. I figured, why not try to make one myself? It seemed like a fun little project.
First, I gathered my materials. I already had some basic jewelry-making stuff, like:
- Thin gold chain
- Jump rings
- A clasp
- Pliers (needle-nose and regular)
I needed to get some small star charms, and I found those online. I also picked up some tiny little crystal beads, I thought they’d look like little stars too.
The Fun Part (Making the Thing!)
I started by laying out the chain on my table. I wanted it to be a pretty standard length, around 18 inches, so I measured and cut it.
Then, I opened up a jump ring with my pliers and attached the clasp to one end of the chain. I closed the jump ring tightly. Repeated that on the other side, but just with a regular jump ring (for the clasp to hook onto).
Next, the tricky part: figuring out the Virgo constellation. I googled an image and kind of sketched it out on a piece of paper. It’s basically a Y shape, right? I hope it is ,I just searched image.

I started arranging the star charms and crystal beads on the chain, trying to mimic the pattern. I used jump rings to attach them. This took some patience, and I definitely messed up a few times and had to redo it. My fingers felt so clumsy!
Once I was happy with the placement of the “stars,” I made sure all the jump rings were closed really securely. I didn’t want my constellation falling apart!
And that’s it! Seriously, it was easier than I thought. It’s not perfect, of course, the stars aren’t perfectly aligned, but I think it looks pretty good! And it’s extra special because I made it myself. It also took me, like, two hours total, including the time I spent messing around with the design.
I am so pround of myself.I wear it everyday!
