Well, howdy there! Today, we’re gonna yak about words, yeah, those things you use to blabber all day long. But not just any words, mind you. We’re lookin’ at the ones that start with “LEO“. Don’t ask me why, some city slicker told me it’s important, so here we go.
Now, the first one that pops into my head is Leo itself. Like that fella, you know, the one with the fancy pictures? Yeah, Leonardo somethin’-somethin’. Smart fella, I hear. Anyways, “Leo” is a name, plain and simple. Like my Billy-Bob, only fancier.
Then there’s a whole bunch of other words, most I ain’t never heard of, mind you. They got words like Leodice and leodicid. Sound like somethin’ you’d take for a cough, don’t they? And Leodicidae and leodicids? Don’t even get me started. Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me, but I guess some folks use ’em.
Oh, and there’s Leonardian. That probably has somethin’ to do with that Leo fella I was talkin’ about earlier. Maybe it’s about his pictures or somethin’. City folks and their fancy words, I tell ya.
- leoncito – Sounds like a tiny lion cub, doesn’t it? Cute little fella.
- leoncitos – More than one of them little lion things, I reckon.
- leone – Now this one sounds like a real grown-up lion. Roar!
- leones – A whole pack of ’em! Stay outta their way, I say.
- Leonese – Now this one throws me for a loop. Maybe it’s about folks from a place called Leone? Who knows. These city words, they’re somethin’ else.
Then there’s some more of them five-letter words for them word games them young’uns play. Like Leo’s, you know, showin’ it belongs to Leo. And somethin’ about Wordle, whatever that is. Sounds like a waste of time to me, but folks got their hobbies, I guess.
They say you can use these “LEO” words to win at Scrabble or Words with Friends. Never played them games myself. Too busy milkin’ cows and tendin’ to the chickens. But if you’re into that sort of thing, I guess it’s good to know these words.

Now, some folks say usin’ these words helps you “expand your vocabulary” and “level up your game with confidence”. Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me, but hey, if it makes you happy, go for it. Me, I’m happy with my plain speakin’ ways.
And apparently, there’s a whole bunch more of these words. Fifteen, they say. Enough to win every Scrabble game, apparently. Like I said, I ain’t never played, but sounds like a lot of words for just one little “LEO“.
There are words with “LEO” in them too, but we ain’t talkin’ about them today. Just the ones that start with it. It’s all a bit confusing, if you ask me. But I’m just tellin’ you what I heard, alright? Don’t shoot the messenger.
So there you have it. A whole bunch of words startin’ with “LEO“. Most of ’em I can’t even pronounce, let alone use in a sentence. But hey, maybe you city folks can find a use for ’em. Me, I’ll stick to “howdy” and “y’all”. At least I know what them mean.
Anyways, I gotta go feed the pigs. Hope all this word talk made some sense to ya. If not, well, don’t worry about it too much. Life’s too short to fret over fancy words, I reckon.
